Every gun I've ever fired much TSS in shows scoring in the bore. It's safe to use, but you may not like how the gun looks after you do. I will not shoot it through and expensive gun nor an heirloom. -

If you've never used one, rent first. Airbnb is probably the cheapest way. I went that route a few times to help me decide. I came away disliking travel trailers and thinking there's no way they're not all crap.- howl

Get at least 100 rounds of 1.25oz or hotter loads to break it in. Winchester has a magnum dove out these days that's about the cheapest for that. If you get out of order in your loading sequence you can lock those up to the point you need to drop the trigger group to get the shell out. It's an... -

Left handed rifle help
I'm not sure why we're still using handed rifles; especially when the majority of people are backwards. I'd talk him out of .270 and into a Beretta BRX-1.
