Hammer vs Barnes question???
Hammers are faster due to lower engraving pressure/friction and therefore higher velocity before you hit overall pressure limits. More shock to game upon impact. More accurate, both in bullet to bullet uniformity and on the target. Having said all that, if Hammer's didn't exist I'd shoot Barnes...- winmag

Tuning a Muzzlebrake
I didn’t shoot groups at the different settings to test accuracy. If it’s shooting that poorly I’d call Christensen and send it in for them to figure out what’s wrong with it. The MPR has a sub MOA accuracy guarantee. -

At least Swaro will work on them. I sent a top of the line Zeiss spotter (which was almost $4000 new, and came with a "lifetime" warranty) in for repair that was 11 years old and they told me its "beyond its useful life", no warranty whatsoever, they won't even work on it if I pay them, but they...- winmag

Killing for content, taking irresponsibly long shots (even when they say they practice a lot and are such great shots), and wounding animals never to be found seems to be the name of the game on YouTube. It seems even more prevalent with the guys with less than 15,000 followers for some reason...- winmag

I just brought a salted and not even dry tahr hide back in May. USFWS and customs didn’t care, they just wanted to confirm that it was a hunting trophy and was not a commercial item. I also brought in vacuum sealed meat that was frozen when I left but had thawed by the time I arrived in LAX...- winmag

How many bullets for backpack elk hunt?
I used to take 12 or so but after about 15 years of never using more than 3, I’ve trimmed it down. I took 6 on a recent deer hunt, used 1. I took 8 on a recent hunt in grizzly country, 2 extra for the bears I guess, used 0. -
Quota status
They were trying to close that unit a day earlier than when it actually closed, but they had already published the daily update and couldn’t figure out how to update the website twice in one day. No rams were killed the extra day, but still pretty dumb. -
