I got drawn for a Scimitar Horned Oryx hunt in 2015. It was in early September so it was still hot. We saw a fair number but didn't get a good opportunity. Still had a great time.
The velcro/condura ones work okay in soft dirt where there's lots of burrs but wear through in rocky terrain. For rocky terrain I had good success with the Lewis boots but they are pita to tape on to an uncooperative dog. On the plus side the Lewis boots slowed down my pointer....for a little...
This is really the best answer. Not that your fence doesn't need to be higher but the dog probably needs more activity. I bought a roading harness and hooked my pointer up to BMX bike and would let it pull me for 5 miles a day while riding the brakes. You can't do that when it's too hot but...
Even if we burn every single fossil fuel before we die out the earth will cleanse itself within a million years which is a very short period of time geologically. That said, I'd prefer it if we behaved in a less like locusts and have more positive long term behaviors. The first step is to...
Wow, you're hunting about 3 miles from my house! I've never been on the preserve but I've driven past it a bunch of times. I didn't even know they had hunting out there.
I grind twice; coarse first then fine. I also put my meat, bowls, and grinding head in the freezer and get everything really cold before I grind because if it's almost frozen it's a lot easier to grind.
Sounds like a nice rifle! 6.5PRC looks like a really good 6.5.
I have no experience with MPI but I have also heard of some unhappy reviews...but I've also heard of happy customers too. They've been in business for a while so they must be doing something right. I have an A-bolt Titanium...
The dog is the easy part. Having a place with birds to run and train your dog is where it gets hard.
Do you plan to use pigeons or quail? It takes birds to make a bird dog.
I fear most hunting is becoming for the very rich or the very poor which is basically the same as Europe. Two different systems that produced the same result. Convergent evolution?
The Feds could step in and demand they distribute the permits just like private landowners do in several states but you can thank Harry Reid and GW Bush for making sure that will never happen.

If Biden gets his way(and there's not much stopping him) then you'll need an NFA stamp to use them in public and if you get caught without it you'll be in some serious legal trouble.
