NY opened Thursday….heard a few way off as the first birds sounded around 530. Made my way around a big bowl to close the distance. 2 groups were several hundred yds below on private property. Good stuff……It would have been neat to get info on this one I killed a few years ago. What was really neat about it was the feathers that were white, were white on both sides, perfectly symmetrical. Ones that were half white, half white both sides.- Toneloc

What's your set up this year ?
I could tell my buddies thought I was in left field when I found a vendor off alibaba for TSS and bought 10 kg about 5 years ago. I think my all in cost is about $3.50 a round. Seeing $18.27 per round makes me feel justified, lol. Factoring is gas, tags, etc. ammo for turkeys still not...- Toneloc

Big fan of 870 youth with 21” barrel. 870 steel receiver built like a tank. 1 5/8 oz #9 tss hand loads. Sumtoy mount with swamp fox pistol dot. Have taken the boy to KY for youth season past 3 years. With all the flooding and tornado warnings we audibled and decided to try NC. Not sure if NC woods (think lots of pine plantation) are exactly my cup of tea, but we were able to pull it off and he shot a nice public land bird Saturday...- Toneloc

Haha...I like the positive vibes. Non residents unfortunately....which is how I ended up giving up the West game while kids have been growing up. Plan D is going to be Colorado secondary draw, which I under youth get 100% preference for. Need to research up a little more on that process if...- Toneloc

Ever check out the Kibler kits? His southern mountain rifle kits are pretty awesome. He's noted for having the best kits in the industry. Everything is cnc'd so it's easy to fit up. They are pricey, but if you are handy and do a good job on the kit, it will be worth well more than you paid...- Toneloc

Barnes bullets no longer have the "X" on the base
I bought a box of the Vor-tx 270 Winchester rounds about 3 years ago and they grouped awesome is my Tikka. They've been money for me on whitetails and my go to in that gun. Good tent for 3rd season elk CO
Not much heat would make it from the vestibule into the tent I wouldn't think. So then you'd be trying to stand around it outside the tent under the canopy...... I also think it would get in the way coming in and out of the tent. I always wanted to put a stove jack in and put a stove inside... -
