Arrow Length
I am in elevatorman's camp. For me it is all about penetration and arrow flight. I am perfectly ok sacrificing speed if I have to, but I prefer a heavier setup. It all depends on the performance that you would like out of your arrow. -

Any reason not to use Trad Vanes instead of feathers?
I hunt in western Oregon for the most part.....it rains a lot. Most of the time it isn't so much the rain falling from the sky that will matte feathers, at least in my experience. It is all of the water dripping off of all of the brush, tall grass, low limbs, etc. I refletched some of my arrows... -

Recurve Shooting
No you may not. It is one of the 10 commandments of traditional shooting, "Thou shalt not use a release aide". It is in between "Ensure thine FOC is extreme" and "Though shalt shoot only off the shelf". All kidding aside, I don't see why you couldn't. It might be a little interesting setting... -

Favorite Hunt Hack?
I didn't see this one listed. I will take my clothes that I plan on wearing for the next day, but don't actually want to wear to sleep in, and place them in my sleeping bag. Wake up the next morning and get dressed with warm clothes on a chilly morning.- TheKnigit

How many deer on average do you see per hunting day?
Hunting coastal blacktails in Oregon I typically see 7-10 deer on a good day. Maybe 1 of those would be a buck. This last year however I saw 7 deer the whole month long general season, and no bucks. I did see a lot more beer sign in our "normal" area.
