Changing rifles because of excess recoil.
My first rifle was a 243, then I inherited my father's 300WM and thought that was what I needed for deer. Took me about 15 years but I bought a 7-08 (before even finding Randy or this site) and haven't touched the 300 since. Winchester M70 EW
I have one in 7mmHT. It has quickly become my favorite hunting rifle. I don't do any mountain hunting, but carrying it through the fields in South Dakota hasn't been a problem. Accuracy is great.
