I think it's a well calculated move to bring more attention to the sport. It sucks more in than it drives away.
That said, the only women's basketball I've ever watched were my younger sister's games. Nothing but the majesty of watching a man-sized and strengthed woman with little awareness...
It's leaned to that side for years. It survived the 80-90 mph winds we got a month or 2 ago like a champ. Today's wind has a more northerly aspect, old sucker just gave up.
If sitting in a blind were difficult, no one would do it. My guess would be the vast majority of antelope are killed from a blind on water. I've sat water and basically had opportunities every day.
My whole point with my original comment is nothing about this proposed action "kills" hunting...
I guess I have a completely different view of blind hunting. Antelope require water at least once a day, in hotter or more active periods multiple times a day, and almost always in daylight hours.
In an area as described where "every spring or water source" has been routed to a cattle tank...
The reason for such liberal archery-only seasons is the historically lower success rates for archery.
Tactics/season structure/whatever that increases success rates, even marginally, have an outsized affect on the resource because of the huge number of tags.
We need to keep archery-only...
It wouldn't kill the hunting. It would definitely decrease the success rate. It would be a lot tougher to harvest an antelope with a bow which is how it should be.
