    Best Colorado antelope units?

Wyoming's average pronghorn units may be as good as what you can draw in Colorado and draw with shorter waits between tags plus several units have plenty of public lands that hold pronghorn. Cost to get a non-resident tag is about the same if figure will need to build two or three years of...

    Post Chemotherapy Fitness Expectations

Your body will let you know how soon and much you can manage. The new normal may be the old normal or may be something else. Be the best physical version of you that you can be and that is a win. I second the idea of a trainer that has worked with similar clients and second the idea to run (pun...

    2025 college football 🏈

I also would collect his access badge and walk him out of the building. He has a new job that requires signing high school players this week! As if he will recruit any of those kids to Ole Miss. If he is allowed to coach out the season then wins the Natty then does that make kids want to attend...

Is a custom rifle worth it

Abso-fricken-lutely! That said, no one needs a custom rifle to be a successfully harvest big game. I will now never buy a rifle that is not custom, though. Just as I will never buy average optics anymore. Hunted big game for 35 years using mostly Winchesters. Those rifles got the job done as I...

    Wyoming Bison hunt

Congrats. Great recap. I may never go another big game hunt as am mid-60s though a bighorn ram tag or a bison tag in my hand would make it very difficult for me to stay home. Both are so iconic for America big game along with the pronghorn.

    Grandson’s First Elk

Great job! A lot of distractions for young kids that involve phones so getting out in nature for an adventure is a huge accomplishment. Much healthier than sitting and doom scrolling the internet.

    What’s your favorite steak sauce?

I second the idea of seasoning before cook. My father-in-law grew up eating fresh beef in Montana and swore you can never over-season a steak prior to cooking. My sirloin and rib-eye average 14 ounce and about 1.25" to 1.5" thick. A thinner or smaller steak is less forgiving if are a bit slow...

Which western states have been disproportionately good to you in drawing tags?

WY has been good for me as a non-resident. Migration tags 3x for bull elk and 1x for buck mule deer. Another bull elk on leftover list. 2x first choice buck pronghorn and 3x as 2nd choice buck pronghorn. Those days are fizzling away for non-residents plus preference points have a rocket tied...

Which western states have been disproportionately good to you in drawing tags?

In the prior much larger non-resident pool years ago was very good to me. Seemed to pull a good tag every other year. Pronghorn, Coues and mule deer. I think was mucking around by USO that blew up things for unguided non-residents. One tag since that change though was my first NM bull elk tag.

    Bighorn Sheep Taxidermy Mount Options

I prefer the euro ram skull mount. The hide is not very interesting. The pronghorn and the mountain goat are the most interesting trophies for a mount, in my opinion, in North America. I would never do larger than a shoulder mount, though, as the shoulder mount captures the majesty of the...

    Nevada elk odds

There are only so many tags no matter the species and a decent tag for any bull/buck/billy/ram does not fall into leftovers. We collectively chase too few tags. Most of us will be disappointed. Think about a preference point system. Does it make sense? If I go to Vegas, they do not put me in a...

    Buying property?

Some harsh feedback. I have a relative that offers gifts. An heirloom or some corporate stock. Is a gift per her. Alas, she mentally creates a debt. That debt in her mind is absolutely a two-sided binding agreement that in the future she has the right to mention the prior gift and reveal what...

    My 2025 wyoming elk recap

Nice job! Hunting with buddies has its perks when a critter is tipped over. That cougar looks healthy. I like seeing that terrain! My back aches when I see really steep stuff.
