Wow, a Braided Hair one cent. Great find. I envy anyone detecting in the Eastern US. More availability of older coins. My town was founded in 1856 and the oldest coin I've ever found is an 1859 Quarter. Congrats!!
Most unique coin I've found here was a 2 cent piece. So corroded could hardly figure out what it was. With a little cleaning could see it faintly. I know I hurt the value
of the coin but am not going to part with it anyway.
dcopas78, I also metal detect and have for 25+ years. Great hobby for sure. And the feeling of a shiny silver coin coming out fills the void from the off season for hunting and fishing.
