Late monsoons, record El Nino...
Got 1.5" at my house in ABQ since Tuesday, finally! Odd pattern of rain after midnight and waking up to cloudy wet weather. Supposed to be very wet next week also. Elephant Butte actually rose a few inches but is still at 1.4%. If it keeps raining maybe it'll make it to 2-3%.- jrabq

While deer hunting in SE Utah I spent some midday time fishing for trout in two small nearby lakes, and had fun using a light spinning rod throwing flies under a bubble. I was never a fly rod purist so any tool that works is ok in my book, and in some instances the spinning rod works great. One...- jrabq

2026 Colorado Draw Results
No luck for me on elk, slim chance but was hoping to get lucky. Deer probably had zero chance but TBD. -

I thought we had a pretty good point cushion for antelope in the special draw, but mega point creep got us. I'm just trying to get a hunt with my grandson before I croak, and it's been frustrating the last couple of years.- jrabq

I did my job netting this 7-1/2 lb walleye my wife caught while trolling this morning.😀. We were fishing for crappie mostly, I about crappied my pants when I saw how big this fish was, fortunately I the big net in the boat.- jrabq

The walleye spot turned on and had a good trip Thursday and today with a friend. Most are in the 18-20" range with multiple 20 inchers Thursday, very happy about that. Also a couple of catfish and a bunch of bass, mostly undersized. Everything on crankbaits, Rapala shad raps or similar.- jrabq
