My, aren't we all so special? Reading this thread, I would have thought I was eavesdropping on the snobby tittering of a group of high school "mean girls" deriding those not in the cool crowd. I guess the HT illuminati have spoken and we all need to fall in line.
I visited the expo and saw...
The G&F website is a good place to start. After that, you will likely get the best information by contacting the biologist with the Wyoming Game and Fish office for the region you are interested in. They will have a broader base of experience with different units in the region than most of the...
My heart aches for you and your loved ones and the pain and worry that you are experiencing. I will be thinking of you and praying that the dark clouds will part and light will come back into your lives.
I just finished "A Rising Man" by Abir Mukherjee. It's a good murder mystery set in 1919 Calcutta. This is the first in a series of books involving the same detectives. I'm looking forward to reading the others to see if they hold up as well.
I just finished Sleeping Bear by Connor Sullivan. It's the best edge-of-your-seat thriller I've read in quite a while. Set in the Yukon/Alaska border area and Russia. I'm pretty intolerant of ridiculously hyper-competent protagonists and lazy plot holes. This book avoided both failings or it...
I read "Falling" by TJ Newman. A thriller about a plane hijacking and kidnapping. I heard it was good but was disappointed. Interesting story idea but there is a huge plot hole that overwhelms the last third of the book.
Just finished 2034. Very good. It's about a possible war with China in the near future. Very engaging. Sort of Tom Clancy-ish. Written by an admiral and another vet.
I have been to Germany and Austria a number of times. Though I have never hunted there, I have looked into it a bit. You may want to look at the website for FACE (European Federation for Hunting and Conservation) https://www.face.eu/. Other forums, such as Accurate Reloading...
Desert Solitaire is a beautiful book though a clear distaste for other people and humanity in general (except a few friends) comes across in Abbey's writings. The book is mostly based on his experiences while living in Arches near Moab. The irony is that the great interest in Southern Utah that...
I am considering this smart watch for running and hiking/backpacking/hunting. Does anyone have any experience with it? I already have a GPS but the watch has many added features and, frankly, looks fun; however, for the price, I would also like it to be functional and useful. I recognize I could...
All three are great but I enjoyed the first (Rise) the most. It's probably the most engaging biography I have read. I could be wrong but I think the author got a Pulitzer for The Rise of TR.
I can't speak to other states but I have to chuckle a little each time I hear hunters in my home state complain about hunting pressure - and they do complain. When I started hunting, you felt lucky if there was only one hunter on each ridge. There were three times as many deer hunters with tags...
