Reality is that there are too many variables to have a set distance limit. There are 800yd shots I would take and 50yd shots I wouldn’t. It comes down to having the experience to know which one that particular shot is.

I would then spend a lot of my time acquiring skills to be as self sufficient as possible.. welding, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, gardening, stock...
It wasn’t terrible. I took the two hinds off and gutted it. That made it light enough for me to flip it over and grab some pics. Just cropped them so you couldn’t see the missing back.

My wife, who has never hunted, wants to go west and shoot something… she doesn’t care what state or species. I think our 3 options are MT Big game combo(I need to spend my points anyway), CO OTC or low draw tag or I probably have enough WY deer points to draw a general tag on a party app...
I would say you are in the park at 320ish maybe a bit bigger. A dandy bull and a great trophy.

What buffer do you have in your ARs? You may be able to mess with buffer/spring combos and go lighter if you desire. You could even experiment with clipping a couple coils off a spare buffer spring.
