    They told you the rifle you have is a “newer model / make” Are you sure Buds sent you an Alpine MT rifle? They were discontinued in 2017. All of them that I’ve seen have been cerakoted.

    That weight difference is all in the stock. Barrel and lightened action are the same. The LAW stock on the Alpine rifle is far superior than the hogue stock.

    Yep, The dealer has to keep the sale date on record. I had to go back to my dealer for that info to get warranty work on a Sig. I’d go to your dealer to get a copy of the sale.

    This and what 8andcounting said is spot on with what I’ve seen on the South Dakota line. They had some really bad winters a while back, lots of fawns killed so that doesn’t help with the older class deer population now.

    You’ll see plenty of mule deer in SE MT but you’ll have a hard time seeing the big ones on public land. They didn’t get big by hanging out in the open!

    I think last year 2 points in reg draw for a general tag was 100% I wonder how many points it will take in 2019. I don’t want to play the point game for a general tag.

    Eastern Montana or SD archery?

    Northwest SD is great for hunting speed goats. Lots of walk in land. It's a little tough with archery because the grass is so short. Last year when we went they wouldn't come into our decoys like previous years. You can buy the archery tags online.
