Non resident hunting advice
Right? Why it's so hard to make a recommendation on these threads. If the priority is about making sure a person get an elk on a once-in-a-lifetime deal, then the stubble field hunts are the way to go. If it's about experiencing the backcountry with a lower chance at an elk, different story... -

No more brick and mortar license sales?
Bought my native tags last night, applied for special deer and elk as well. Sent required documents via email, got confirmation of receipt this morning, processed by 1 pm, downloaded etags and good to go. Didn't fight traffic or rush hour.- BuzzH

Is that right? It is when its reduced to bag via legal take. There's a certain landowner in wyoming that's going to be tried for theft of an elk rack. Pretty tough to be charged with theft if wildlife isn’t owned by someone you're stealing it from.- BuzzH

This problem with federal workers and teacher pay is not limited to just Jackson. Many of the places that FS, BLM, etc. workers could afford to live in the "less desirable" places throughout the West, are now where the cool kids want to live. We've been fighting this for at least the past 10...- BuzzH
