Optics/Bullet for First Elk Tag
JMO, a 2.5x8, 3x9, or a 3.5x10 would be my choices for a scope on a .30/06. Sight it in for a 200 yard zero and practice with it. Buy a great pair of bino's and the most important part is GET IN SHAPE! -

I use the 100 grain Nosler Ballistic Tip in my .25/06. -
What were your worst caliber/rifle choices
The AI does not offer much over the regular .280 Rem, and it cannot come close to a 7mm magnum. If I want 7 magnum performance I'll buy a real 7 mag. -

My worst choices were the .280 AI and .35 Whelen AI. -
