Colorado OTC 2nd Rifle or Montana General Elk
I live in Montana and have hunted Colorado before, the biggest issue you might have, is if you can draw a tag here. The last two years they've "sold" out the non resident tags, and with Colorado, you can just show up and buy one at any Walmart. So you have to take into consideration of that... -

Enclosed vs. Utility
I own both, and use my enclosed for hunting, and I actually insulated my trailer for camping in it, built beds and a counter for preparing food and whatnot.- 137buck

You'd be fine, as long as it doesn't rain or snow. Here in Montana, most back roads, when wet, even with 4x4, it is an experience driving on them. MT early Nov COW elk tactics
The elk in my area have been silent and most of them have moved to private land since the invasion of the orange army. As for tactics, I just spot and stalk them mostly, but the last week or so has been disappointing, as most elk I've seen are on private that's closed to hunting. -
Recommended over the counter Unit
Montana is and isn't an OTC tag, they have 17,000 tags that they offer to non residents. So yes they do have the otc, but it's capped at how many they sell. As for the thought of getting away from everyone, well that would depend on if you're hunting with bow or gun. Bow season is less... -

Big Sky Total Archery Challenge?

Enclosed Trailer Conversion
I didn't use spray foam, but I have 2" of foil faced foam board in the ceiling and 1.5" in the walls and used spray foam for all gaps and between the edges of each foam board. I have a buddy who used the spray foam it works awesome...but it's almost too airtight.- 137buck

I agree with this, I went to Colorado elk hunting once and did the same thing. According to the maps and google earth, it seemed hilly, but once I was there...holy crap. Took me an hour to go 100 yards...So make sure you have plan A, B, and possibly C ready to go. As for the success rates go...
