It is a fair area for deer, you just have to get out and walk or hunt over trails or water holes is best for the bigger ones. Alot of the area is private, but most will be very well advertised that it is. It is a fairly pretty area to hunt and there is a small lake called Toltec that has a campground and you can bank fish or boat the lake, again very small lake maybe 2 or 3 acres unless we have more rain. A few miles down the road are the Wheatland Reseviors that have a varied type of gamefish and campgrounds.
I got to say something bad/good here guys. Don't leave your stuff in sight around your campsites or campers. You can see a long ways around here and they can be in and gone before you even are close to the camp. A few had stuff leave even tho some of it was chained down with locks. Here in Wyoming you are probably O.K. if you are not withing a mile of a official campground to just pull off the road and camp, just make sure it's National Forest, BLM lands. Watch the fires as it has been very dry here. Remember where you camp, imagine that if it rains just a quarter inch you can be "camp bound" with your vehicle as the mud will make it very hard to impossible just to move a few yards. If you do bring 4 wheelers be responsible, your tracks can stay here for 20 or 30 years and by then it might be a chasm down the side of a hill. OK enough of me being like your mom. Good luck all
