Looking to make my first trip out west next fall with my brother. Trying to make a Pronghorn/Mule Deer combo hunt happen in SE Wyoming. I think I have my Pronghorn Unit strategy locked out. A little more lost on Mule Deer. I am suspicious of anything with high odds for someone with 0 preference points as a party. I know there are significant public land access issues in this part of the state. Unit 60 specifically has two different designations depending on if on or off national forest land. Any locals know if it is feasible to hunt public land here if not on the national forest. Any other recommendations to target. We aren't looking for a once in a lifetime buck. Just to have a good opportunity out West to experience. I know some of the HMAs would be an option depending on if we could draw them or find the ones that have unlimited permission slips after a point in time.
