Wyoming HMAs

Can someone explain briefly how HMAs in Wyoming work? If you can get written permission from the landowner do you have to go throught the non-resident public draw to get a tag? Or is the tag on a license you can buy over the counter and you just need written permission from the landowner?

HMAS are private land that have an agreement with WY to allow public access

However, you must first apply and draw a non resident tag for that specific unit and species.

Upon a successful draw you must typically apply in a draw to obtain permission slips to be on that HMA. These are usually limited in early season but typically unlimited and easily attainable for late season.

Each HMA is different. Please refer to each HMAs specific ranch rules.
