What do you guys think of the Cliff Creek Fire?
Over 26,000 acres and 20% contained.

How does it affect the hunt? Any suggestions for a guy going scouting up there next week?

It's essentially my back yard. Look at the closures, a lot of stuff is inaccessible even if not on fire. It's still very active. Visibility has been bad most mornings, even up high, in probably 90% of the region. Evenings have been much better with typically west winds. Have fun, hope you can get where you want to!

Snowy, you can probably verify but from maps almost all major fire is north of highway so shouldn't effect many non residents as much of that is wilderness anyways if I remember right. I know spots south of bondurant that need a burn bad and wish it would get some of those. Not wishing negative on residents it's just real good for the land and eventually the critters that roam it.

Much of the closure is wilderness, but as you mentioned not all. I also would not be surprised if the whole SE portion of H is closed within a week or two. With cliff cr road still closed it reduces non wilderness access even though little of that side is actually closed. For most non wilderness on the west side morning smoke will be the scouting issue on most days.

Based off of long term analysis, the results show there is a 50% chance the fire will be 100% contained by September 30th.

Only a coin flip that the fire that is 47% perimeter contained will be fully contained in 60 days.
