WY sheep and moose points question

So i was thinking about whether I want to buy points for moose and sheep and started thinking about that process. If you draw a tag, you lose your points and cant apply for 5 years. Soooo....let's say going forward, I build sheep points for 20 years and then draw a tag in the random draw. I will lose all my points right? Even though it was in the random draw? I mean I couldnt complain since I drew a tag but still I would have spent a lot of money on points that never did anything for me. Am I right on this? I guess it could also work the same way for deer, elk and antelope if you are applying for tough draw units???

If you apply for a sheep tag, they automatically charge you $100 and award you a point.

There is no way to apply ONLY for the random draw and not build points and not be charged $100.

In Wyoming you'll be paying if apply for points and you'll be paying if you apply for the tag.

Personally, I'd apply for the tag, build a point, and pray I got lucky in the random draw.
