Kroger has pork butts pretty cheap. I told the wife I would have bought one, but it was too late to start cooking one today. Her response was that I could do it in a crock pot, anyone know the address to the Arapahoe county divorce court?

Never smoked one. This is the recipe I've used. Only advice is if you have elk backstrap it's a great substitute.

Here is the plate.....sides are simple.....homemade butter and sour cream mash, corn, sour dough from a friend and horseradish. The accompanying stout was from the wife and it was top shelf.

Took a little longer than expected (5 hours passed dinner), but it turned out pretty good. 16.5 hours in the smoke. Seems long for a 7# brisket.

The next time it will finish up 5 hrs earlier than you expect, brisket is a mysterious thing. Looks good

Haha, it definitely tastes good. Smoked at 225 for awhile, then up to 265-275. The meat only got to 196 internal temp. Masterbuilt electric smoker.
