What you all cookin for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day

Last night was our first of three Christmas parties. Had a bunch of people at the SIL house and decided to do a BBQ greatest hits type meal pulled pork, tri-tip, and a small hunk of brisket. Also had quite the finger food spread.20251220_164453.jpg20251220_172251.jpg20251220_172255.jpg20251220_172259.jpg

Oh and my interesting dirty Santa gift. I love my group of friends.20251221_080153.jpg

Thats something different, I like the idea. Itwould be fun with the kids. Maybe new years eve for us.

This has been an easy pizza dough that works good for us. If you have a pellet grill use that, it tastes like wood fired pizza

Christmas Day is a big potluck with lots of family, prime rib n all the fixings. I'm not in charge of that.

Christmas Eve will be small with just my family. Will start by brining some shanks overnight, then cold smoke for a few hours, then transfer to the dutch oven with carrots and a tiny bit of broth. Take meat out, wrap in foil while I make the dutch oven broth into gravy. Serve over mashed potatoes.

Our next holiday meal will be a 7lb CAB standing rib roast, with twice baked potatoes, and salad on Christmas eve. Christmas morning i have a assortment of Danish kringles made in Wisconsin almond, raspberry, and cherry. Gonna make elk wellington with my last piece of elk backstrap for Christmas dinner.

Christmas Eve my wife and I are cooking an all seafood Italian Christmas Eve dinner for a very close friend and her family.

Appetizers:
anchovy filets on toast with butter
Oysters on the halfshell
Fried calamari
Crab Louie salad cups
Shrimp cocktail

Mains:
Garlicky linguine with clams and mussels in a white wine sauce
Bacala alla napoletano

Gonna be too much food and too much wine. Just the way it ought to be.
