I do mine in an oven bag , potato's , carrots , onions , butter , teaspoon of flour . Cook It slow , like 250 , until it reaches 145 internal temp , or so...

Mississippi pot roast
Slow cooker. Moose is very lean. I toss an abundance of onion & garlic into the cooker. Lookup "Gochujang beef Slow cooker" So tasty.

Each year I brine-up fifty pounds or more of donated elk roasts for a corned elk Saint Patty's Day dinner. One year a large moose roast was included and the corned moose was excellent!

100%. Especially if you want to be able to say what moose taste like. dump it in a pot with liquid and you will still be able to say you have no idea what moose tastes like.

I found my moose to be pretty tough when I ate it as a roast. My parents pressure cooked theirs to MR and still thought it was too tough. They ended up chopping it up in a food processor with onions and garlic and mushrooms and ate it in gravy over mashed potatoes. I thawed the rest of my roasts out and cut them into steaks, cubed steaks, and stew meat. I use a jaccard tenderizer on the steaks, or just stab the hell out of them with a fork, and grill them. Much more satisfying, especially with what I share.

Marinade it tri-tip style for 24 hours and BBQ until you get a 130 degree internal temp via medium heat. Let rest 5 minutes, then thin slice. So good!
Can also cube it up and make moose stew.
