what gauge for rabbits?

what do you guys think the best guage is for rabbits? i think its the 12 gauge but others say different.
 
Must be 10 with minimum of BB shot. 00 buck is better!

JK. I think a 20 is about perfect. That’s what I used as a kid and it did great.
 
Used to hunt snowshoe hares a lot when I lived in Momtana. Used a 22 mag and suspect it would work on cottontaails also. If I was to take a shotgun probably my AyA 410 with 3" shells.
 
It matters how close shots are. Most shots for me are in thickets. Shots are usually 10 yards. I use a Rem 1000 youth model with 2.75", 20 ga #6. Shot up rabbit with every leg bone broke in pieces and dark spotted bloody meat aint worth eatin
