Here in the valley where I live there are two basalt rock formations that rise up about 800 ft. above the valley floor. They are called upper and lower table rocks. They are managed by BLM and have nice hiking trails up to the top for folks who want to pretend they are wilderness hikers. On any nice day there might be several hundred people hiking up there to see the view and look at wild flowers. Today my grandson's third grade class took a field trip up there. He took his tablet along to take pictures. He got one of a gopher snake that he thought was a rattler. A lot of scenery pics and one he wasn’t overly impressed with but it blew me away. He was just pointing up at the sky when a fireball shot into the frame and he snapped a picture. In my 65 years I have seen only one daytime fireball and the thought of ever being able to take a snapshot of one is just mind blowing.
