Hey 2FASTNAZ and others, I grew up at 51st Ave and Thomas. I actually lived on 48th and Encanto from 1989 to 1996 or 97. I went to Maryvale (graduated in 1993). and Issac Jr high. I curious to know if we have any common friends or if I hung out with any of your kids. :D I got tired of being the minority over there and headed out here to Mesa and Gilbert(no offense Law Vegas ;))
 
No offense taken, amigo. I know White Flight is common as soon as a brown man shows up in the 'hood. Although, I think the admission of going to Maryvale HS says it all. ;) When was the last time they won a state championship . . . in ANYTHING? :eek:
 
Hey GF I actually grew up at 35th and the railroad tracks went to Carl Hayden class of 78. First wife went to maryvale class of 79.
I stay at my mothers place on 48th ln. 1 block S. of Thomas. Shes 80 and needs some help and she helps me with my kids ( I don't always know how to explain things to a little girl )It's very possible we know some of the same people. I guess I 've been the minority so long it doesn't bother me any more. All my best friends growing up were hispanic so I get a hoot out of the hente that don't know me accusing me of being a bigot:cool:

Hello fellow westsiders,

I migrated here from the Scottsdale area.
Grew up all over the world as an army brat.
The longest stint in any one place was after my dad quit the army after 25 yrs. Moved back to Tempe/Scottsdale area in 69' and moved to the westside in 92'. Since then, my skin has become more brown with age. I guess I am trying to emulate a chameleon by adapting to my environment.

Nothing wrong with the westside, a few well placed pro-sports teams would cure.
 
Man, you guys are living in a dream world. Why would anyone want to live onthe West side of Tempe? Did you ever see or read Westside Story? It stunk! In my global experience, there are the Westside Weenies (no offense Westy . . . ), and the Eastside EEdiots (sp). They are comprised of such subgroups as: Scottsdale snobs, Chandler Cow Chips, Gilbert Goofballs and Phoenix Fair . . . Nesteled amonst them, like a stream of bat's urine (shinig like a shaft of gold while all around is dark), lies the home to the only true Arizonans. The home of THE University in Arizona. Yes, it's Tempe: land of the free, home of the brave. Anywhere else is just desert with an attitude. IMNSHO. :D :D
 
The only thing I saw in Tempe were granola people, you know the ones, girls who don't shave and eat things that make them smell bad.

Now Mesa is Mecca, clean livin, good schools and no crime.

Westsiders are good people.

What, you've got a problem with Granola people, dude? They don't smell so bad once you get acclimated to the odor. :D And, yes, Westside people are GOOD people; they are simply misguided and failing to realize their full Arizonian potential. BTW, I can't slam Mesa since my in-laws reside there, but I DID think about it. :D
 
Del, Del, Del, Del, Del. Simmer down. It was gf? that called you all a pack of losers, but he's asleep now. The question isn't so much where you currently reside (even good people can make mistakes), it's where you grew up. Look at what it did to gf?. I think it's that dang dround water or something. But if you think a 12-step program would help, I could call my friends at Westsiders Anonymous and see if they have any room. :rolleyes: :D ;)
 
I think I am to far west to be a westsider but I'm perfect anyway. Just ask Del. I didn't grow up around here, again just ask Del, thats why I'm perfect. Living in Litchfield Park has only made me better.

I don't know why all you eastside guys think your so hot? The only thing you have is water with actual fish in it.

We are better looking, smarter, our wimens do what we tell em, we fish better, smell better, and to boot we live on the east side.

Westsiders are better for a few reasons....

1.we dont have to deal with the peoples republic of mesa...

2.We dont have a fag for a mayor like tempe....

3. we dont have to be politacally(sp) correct like most of the east side is..

4. we dont take shit from the TSA and bill bidwell..

5. We dont have a yuppie or gay bar around every corner...

6. And I live on the west side hahahahahaha

Sounds like a friggin fish off to me. Westside versus Eastside. Loser buy lunch or dinner. I have complete faith in the Eastside as the winner.

Del you set up the rules, and maybe I will abide by them.
 
hey thats and Idea a westsider vs the eastsider fish-off... All of us westsiders would show up in our crappty trucks and crappy boats and all you eastsiders have brand new rigs... LieGuy we could make some extra cash on the side also.. keep some of the westsiders in the parking lot......

Now, while I may have in some way precipitated this tempestin a teapot, I feel I have to recant my prior statement about Tempe. I forgot the sexual orientation of the mayor. All right, Go Mesa MENSAs!!

Seriously, a fish off would not be fair-- unless I was allowed to fish in it. Will there be any . . . how you say . . . monetary investments predicated upon calculated risk? What rules will be implemented? Are we allowed to hire, er, I mena, recruit persons to fish on our side? I was thinking Ron Casner might have a few bass we could borrow . . . j/k. Finally, which body of water? Uh, is there a body of water on the West side (other than Lake Un-Pleasant)?

Lake unpleasant as most of us call it have only the fish DEL-Mart Inc. puts in it.....For a small fee of cource...
