I'm new to the area and plan on going on my first Washington archery elk hunt. I'm really just looking for a place on public land to be able and get out. This will be my first time hunting in WA and my first time hunting elk. Any info. on some areas to check out would be great!!

check out the Dicky river area north of Forks and thanks for your service !

Thanks for your service. I don't have much help for Western WA, but if you plan a hunt to eastern WA, I would have some help for you.

the winston unit 520 is a great place to start alot of places to hunt its mostly timber company property and its open for hunting and there is alot of elk there if you are willing to hike behind the gates you will see alot of elk. thats where ill be come the 7th ill be hunting the border of the winston and the margret unit the margret is a draw only unit with a ton of elk good luck

I know a few guys that have hunted Long Island...

If its me r-22, I'd concentrate on that Winston unit like Gary said. There are a lot of elk in that country!
