Weight Loss Drugs

Once Ozempic is stopped, most people regain much or all of the lost weight because the drug’s appetite-suppressing effects vanish and the body’s natural set-point reasserts itself.
It works while you’re on it, not after.

Option is to take it forever or dramatically alter your life, to include diet and exercise.
Yep,that’s pretty much it. Ozempic works while you’re on it, but if you stop the appetite control goes away and the weight often comes back. Longterm results really come down to diet, exercise, and lifestyle changes or staying on the drug under doctor’s guidance

It makes sense the weight comes back. Folks on it have lost most muscle and their basal metabolic rate (metabolism) is much lower. So if you stop, your far worse off than before you started at all, your body burns so much less calories than before (when you had more muscle mass) and now extra calories are piling up alot quicker and wallah. Weight gained back. But now its even worse. If you were 250, lost 50 pounds, half muscle half fat, then gained back 50 pounds of all fat. Yeah your going to gain weight so much easier. Play around with body fat percentage input on a tdee calorie calculator and you'll see the difference

Seems to me like the only way off is incorporating weight lifting and very closing monitor ling calories while mostly protien and start building back muscle without gaining back fat. Then youd be in a good spot.

Look up mind pump show on YouTube. Its the same for folks that didn't take the shots. But the muscle loss is incredibly prevalent in those that take it

I am Not sure why anyone would be taking ozempic for weight loss anymore when you have better options in tirzepitide or retatrutide available soon

My personal experience

Type 2 diabetic
Meds, meds to counter meds, meds because body tolerance to old meds. Low blood sugar when hiking distances. Eating when not hungry in order to not have low blood sugar. Vision all over the place.

Woke up one day and said screw this. Cut all sugar and carbs. Its been a year.

5.6 A1C
Blood sugar 103
Went from 264lbs to 207lbs
No deliberate exercise but I am active

I am on no meds. Zero. My type 2 is considered in remission. What ever that means. It took some determination. But I am not even tempted by sugar and carbs. I enjoy what I eat and I eat plenty. I have family taking the shots who have lost weight and are happy. Wasn't for me. When I took those shots for type 2 I had side affects from stomach cramps to muscle twitches. Convinced me it can't be healthy

It's remarkable how effective no sugar and few carbs works. Eliminate any and all processed foods, and diet issues are essentially solved.

Saw a couple family members this weekend who are taking it. They definitely lost weight. But man they dont look good. There face looks like shit, like they aged a ton or something.
Friend of mine ended up in a wheelchair for a year after taking that stuff. I know several other’s experiencing terrible side effects.

Most people can do that and lose a little...and I mean little...weight. The drugs allow for real weight loss. And there are huge impacts in better health that come along. Thats not in question...millions of examples now. Does need some food lifestyle change which is part of the plan for every patient working with a weight loss doctor.

But how did they feel? How has their health improved? Did you care to ask?

Question the link. Did his doctor say that and how? The main side effects are gastrointestinal and often go away. History of thyroid cancer is the only big contraindication I am aware of.

Lots of dectractors saying things that dont match the experience millions have with these drugs. They require some lifestyle changes but are life changing for many...including many for whom normal dieting did not work.

I have been on it(GLP-1)for a little over 18 months. I fully knew what i was signing up for. I have been over weight since I was about 10 years old. I have always been fairly active but I have problems with controlling my appetite especially when I am in my home. The drug has helped me a lot and I know I may be on it forever. I know how to meal prep and eat well and I lost 60 pounds the old fashioned way multiple times but couldn't keep it off. Now I am down 80 pounds and feel better than ever.

You have to work with the drug though. Take lots of fiber, drink lots of water, and listen to your hunger ques as to not over eat and end up in pain.

As for this it has come down to price. I can get oz for 1/4 of the price of the others. I do however plan on switching to reta eventually.
