Just got the news that Weatherby is going to start loading and selling cartridges in 28 Nosler, 280 AI, 6.5 PRC, 7 PRC, and 300 PRC. The 6.5 PRC is just the short fat version of the 6.5 Wby RPM, so they kinda seem to be undercutting their own market, don't you think?

Sure, if someone is dead set on buying a weatherby rifle regardless of cartridge it might hurt their weatherby ammo sales if those folks have non-weatherby chambering options but they'll probably sell more rifles and more ammo if they chamber and load stuff that more people want. The RPM is the only weatherby cartridge that isn't of a dated design. The RPM is a bit bigger case than the PRC.

Great!!
Someone else making loaded ammo, sucking up yet more of the already limited component supplies.

They are loading hammers in their 280ai, $110/box is pretty much what the noslers go for. It’d be worth a shot based on availability

holy piss. by the time a barrel is broken in with that stuff a guy could have a very functional reloading setup paid for.

I would view it more as taking a piece of a pie they'd otherwise never have a slice of. Lots of money to be made in quality precision ammo these days, stuff ain't cheap
