The problems which you've encountered may be related to the respective barrel maker as you suggest but you've aroused my curiosity. Weatherby firearms were designed and manufactured primarily for hunting and not target shooting or competition shooting. It's reasonable to assume that many Mark V owners use their firearms almost exclusively for hunting and don't spend much of their time at the range so they may not have encountered or become aware of any of the problems which you've experienced.
