They have adapters now to convert bottles to use a hose.

For me the bladders shape versatility wins. I can strap it in more spaces and especially when its half full (positive thinking

Yep, that has been my go to method as well. I got tired of the hose, the sloshing around, worry about a puncture, etc. and then the cleaning. Also it is way easier to filter into a wide mouth bottle vs. filling a reservoir when filtering water.

Easy solution is to purge the air in the bladder before closing the reservoir. Also easy peasy to filter directly into reservoir with a quick connect.
