I have dabbled with this hunt many times over the years. As I've taken hunting more and more seriously I have found more and more "success". The first two trips I never saw a deer. This last one I finally saw a legal buck (3 pt min), I nice old, wide 5x6. But as old bucks are prone to do he gave me the slip. Did see the biggest black bear I've ever seen and a few mt goats. But even with terrible weather there are very few places that can complete in terms of eye candy.

Dude, legitimately amazing photos. Adding another hunt to my bucket list....

wicked cool country - thanks for sharing. Did you run into any hippies or yoga ladies?
Nope. In terms of hippies we were too far away from the PCT, and the yoga ladies really prefer trailheads closer to starbucks and organic food stores, at least here in WA. I hear it's different in MT.

Be aware that the "big buck" would still be considered quite small by rocky mountain standards. I literally saw half a dozen in wy this last week, off the road that were significantly bigger.

Beautiful pictures and thank you for sharing. I miss my home state from time to time with it's beautiful scenery.
