Question for any of you guys who hunt bears in WA. I have to be up in Omak this week end, and saw bear season opens up there on Sat. I usually hunt the blues, and have never even been to Omak. Are there any bears up there? Is it worth my time to even go out and try to find one? Looking at some maps and it looks like there is a lot of public land for a guy to poke around in. Any help would be great.
Thanks

Used to work with a guy that saw "500 lb" bears all the time in Omak. I'm sure he saw bears but probably half that size. Can't help much at all about where in Omak. If you can get to Northport I've been shown a spot that's supposed to be very good. Not sure what unit that's in though. Good luck.

Nbell. The is some good opportunity up in that area. Get a map and head up around conconelly lakes area there is a ton of public land and a very healthy bear population. Another option depending on time would be to head up into the methow valley. There is tons of opportunity in there. I have spent a lot of time hunting all over that country. If you need any help feel free to pm me. Good luck!!!
Lucas.
