UTV windshield suggestions

I recently purchased a 2024 Rmax 1000-4 XTRA last Saturday. I’m seeking recommendations for a windshield. I spoke with STV about it, but they were unable to provide any assistance. The guy couldn’t suggest any options. Since I live in Wyoming, I need a windshield that seals tightly. It’s very dusty here, and the temperature can get slightly cold.
I appreciate any advice you can offer in advance!

I'd go glass or OEM if possible. Do you also have doors/rear window? I went from an X4 Wolverine to a Polaris Northstar and still get tons of dust - don't kid yourself that you'll ever be able to solve that issue. Actually, putting a windshield (plastic one from SuperATV) on my RMAX created a weird siphon effect that resulted in MORE dust entering the cab. I even had the side curtains and back window.

My problem was that in extreme cold the plastic window would frost up and be impossible to clear even with ice melter spray. Would just fog right back up and freeze.

I don’t have any specific RMAX options to recommend, but I agree that glass is the way to go.
I have a Honda Talon, and had a Pioneer before that. I tried plastic on both initially then went with full glass, which is much better in my opinion.

Avoid plastic at all costs. It scratches and pretty soon you can’t see through it. Real pain in the butt

Glass if you'd like to be able to see through it in 6 months.

I have an older Wolverine X4 with the glass OEM windshield - I think that’s the only realistic option for a tight seal and if you want to potentially add a full cab in the future. Definitely need a rear window as well, as just having a front sucks in dust like crazy.

I have a split plastic which I love and dont understand all the hate above. Mine is 9 years old 15k+ miles still looks amazing and give me so much air flow flexibility. Once a year its gets a good cleaning and plastic polish, freezes in winter are not bad without a defroster even just need to do basic care.

I live in a place where brush hangs over the road (Multifloral rose, blackberries, etc) and my honda split plastic got so bad it was dangerous. Got a glass replacement and man is it nice. Also being able to put a windshield wiper (even manual) is nice as well.

You must not get it muddy or run a windshield wiper. Any grit acts like sandpaper on those plastic windshields. Speaking from personal experience. My buddy packs a windshield washing kit and pulls over the get the grime off instead of use his wipers because he accidentally used his wipers on a muddy windshield and has the scratches to prove it. It’s annoying as hell but I understand it.
Glass is the only way IMO.
I’m glad yours is faring better though.

My windshield on my Polaris Ranger is 9 years old and has held up well. It's a Seizmik Versa-Fold. They sell a few different plastic models with different coatings.

I think a lot has to do with weather in your area and how you clean it. I like the fold down when it's hot. Also, don't forget the rear.

i have a 2026 wolverine x 2 1000 and went with glass windshield with the louver flip vents at the bottom,,yes it creates dust like crazy in the cab,,installed super atv roof and rear plastic,,still had alot of dust in cab,found large gap 1 inch+'at base of rear window to black plastic base was big flow area,,sealed up with pool noodle foam ,as many gaps as i could to try to cure dust issue,,sealing up the gap also quieted down the engine noise too.

i seen a guy with a flip up window can am that looked good,but i dont think they make a flip up in glass for the yamaha,,the flip up might be better for dust though creating a positive air flow in the cab when flipped up

im also adding epdm weatherstrip to my x2 doors to try to control dust coming in from the sides also
