I'm lucky enough to have gotten an archery tag for the general bull elk hunt here in Utah! I'm originally from Arizona where the elk hunting has been great, but I am not familiar with the area around where I will be hunting. I will be in the Wasatch Front during the extended archery period (Sept 17-Dec 15.). Anyone know much about where to start or where good areas might be to try this Fall? Im not afraid of backpacking in several miles. Any help would be very much appreciated!

Go up. Then a little higher from that.
There are elk on the front but there are no easy elk up there.
Plus not high densities so can go a ways without seeing any but can also glass them from paved roads. Up to you if its worth 3 miles and 1500 vert of bushwacking through the oak.
