Must be more folks seeing that than we think & switching to hunts/units with good odds only to find out everyone else did the same thing.

It's 50:50 split between max point holders to everyone else, with advantage to max point holders once the total hits 3 for a given hunt. OIAL hunts for nonresidents are often 1 tag only, so there's an exception, but still, not much to complain about besides SFW stripping tags ahead of the draw.

I was top of the points pile for my tag. Took a long time to get there….

Changed my strategy this year and went with a higher odds area for random draw. It worked out and I drew a Manti Archery tag. I have never hunted this area before and spent the last four days scouting the north side of the unit. Found lots of elk but no big bulls or elk I would estimate will grow over 300. It appears its going to take some time finding good bulls and plan on scouting the area south of Gooseberry lake next trip. There is definitely something to be said about holding out for an hunting unit you know.
