How's the season so far ? Mine has been slow so far, 'course I've only been out once.

Here in MN grouse season opens next weekend. I dont get in to grouse too much. I have to travel about 4 hours or so to get to them. Pheasant opens in 4 weeks. Bird numbers are up in my area of MN. Both me and the dog are itching to get out chasing them. Looking forward to hunting Southern and Western Minnesota and NW Iowa.

Only one day out, but it was a good day. Out this weekend with the bow and had a few sharpies scare the crap out of me while in sneak mode.

I hunted mountain grouse on opening day (Labor Day.) Last year was a banner, this year appears much lower here in NW MT. Last year we saw a dozen birds in the morning and had limits by noon. Same dogs, same place, same day, and we flushed four birds, one of which we bagged. However, these findings are preliminary and need to be confirmed by additional research.
