Unusual behavior?

I was out scouting for elk this morning and come upon a fairly large group of sharp tails. Thought nothing of it until I noticed unusual sounds coming from them. I went to check it out and they were out strutting on what I would guess is a lek. Is this normal for sharptails to be strutting in August/September?

NO that is odd. April is normal here.
Bo you think they where "Dusting" like doves or something?

It didn’t sound or look like dusting and they really didn’t feel like leaving their lek.
