Question for you Turkey experts...I ran into a decent number of Turkeys during my 4th season hunt here in colorado. Will these turkeys be in the same general area in the Spring ?

Thanks,
Vince (Colorado)

Maybe....merriams will travel long distances (20+ miles) to wintering areas.
Without knowing anything bout the topography I couldn't tender an edumacated opinion. Typically they'll follow a major drainage to and from wintering areas. I'd think you have some more investigating to do? Sometimes if winter lingers well into spring, even overlapping the turkey opener, you can find these winter flocks stacked up in the lower country.

I don't know what part of Colorado you were hunting, but over on the western slope the turkeys generally just head down the drainages for the winter. They'll spend the entire year in the same drainage, just adjust elevation seasonally.
