Truck gun safe

I may carry a concealed gun in the future.... as I pass the Iowa laws.

Some places (stores & buildings) do not allow concealed weapons, which I understand. I would like to keep the gun in the truck (not all the time of course). I have been looking at pistol safes that fit under the seat, however, they are only locked in place with a thin cable. What types would you all recommend? I was hoping for one that "bolted" to the truck floor from the inside of the safe for better security. NOTE: My F-150 has a seat that flips up whick would allow access to the safe if bolted down.

Cabelas sells these console vaults, but I dont know if there any better, than the ones you were looking at. The GM parts store has a vault and goes underneath the rear seat of a crew cab. Maybe Ford offers somthing similar.

I don't have any specific model reccomendations. However, I know a few guys that have taken different models, simply drilled 3 or 4 holes in the bottom and through floor board and bolted. Most have put pan head bolt up through the floor board with lock washers and lock nuts on the inside.

Just watch our for wires, fluid lines, etc, when you drill!

Yes, Cabelas does have some nice vaults for the truck.
