Tree falling Question

I know there has to be some one here that knows the answer to this.

When falling a tree does it twist toward the hinge or oposite (sp) the hinge?

NO reason really, I just want to know.

It says the hinge should be perpendicular the angle of fall????? Huh? The tree has to have the right lean to it also, eh.

I'm guessing ol' Cheese will weigh in on this one.... Just don't mimic his backcuts, as they leave a lot to be desired....

Now I will have to come in on this because ol guner/sybil thinks it needs to be...

I have no idea what he/she/it is talking about with a back cut??? I really don't think he/she/it does either, but he/she/it, must dribble sewer muck out of his/hers/its cheeks to let every one else smell his/hers/its stench and get some notice one way or another of his/hers/its existence...

Great, maybe you can explain it to me. Did you ever use a Kerf, Swing, or Step Dutchman, they can come in handy, it says?

They all have their place and use...

The easy ones to start with.

Kerf is the thickness of the cut the saw makes, no matter what saw, the term kerf is used.

Swing cuts are made to pull the tree away from the direction it is actually leaning, these shouldn't be used if there is some thing under the tree you want to keep and if it has a real heavy lean, there are other things to do to get the tree to go where you want with out using some of the fancier cuts with out practicing first...
