I think it's interesting to note that the popularity of handgun cartridges seems to be slipping according to die sales numbers. It's also interesting to note the 30-06 is still number one after all these years...9mm and 45-70 replaced by 22-250 and 7mm rem mag.. maybe a trend.. We'll see.

There certainly are some interesting arguements that could be made for the rise or decline of any cartridge in particular. With regard to the .300 Ultra and other "newer" beltless mags, they sure caught on quickly...

The only one the surpised me was the 6.5x55... shows my ignorance perhaps!
