Ok guys I have real need for some knowledge.
I have a Tikka chambered in 22-250 that I want to rebarrel with a Proof and change the caliber.
I cant decide what caliber.
I read that all Tikka receivers are the same length. If that is true then it will take a LA cartridge or a SA.
I dont know if this is true or not so Im asking you folks.

Yes, that’s correct.

Shaen Magan can do all of the work for you, is fantastic to deal with and does first class work with reasonable turn around times with fair pricing. Cant speak highly enough about his service.

Yep you will just have to get new magazine and bolt stop to go to long action. Or grind down existing bolt stop

Since you have the short action bolt stop & magazine anyways, suggestion of the 7mm-08.
Very versitile cartridge.

Who is this fellow you speak of, Shaen Magen?

whats the suggested twist rate on 708?
Its one of the questions on the form.

1:9 will work with everything up to 180gr.
And realistically, unless your using a custom throated barrel, i wouldn't go much above 150gr bullets.
Anything heavier really encroaches on the powder space.
