Tikka .300 WM Elk Ammo

Curious as to what Tikka .300 WM owners are using for Elk ammo? Looking to stock up on a few brands to see what my rifle likes best.

Side note. Can anyone recommend an online ammo dealer?

I’ve used 180 Accubonds, 180 TTSX, and 168 TTSX in the .300 Win Mag with great results.

I've had pretty good results with 190LRX Barnes in both of my Tikka 300 Win mags. Ones an older 1:11 and the new one is a Roughtech with the 1:10

I got the new ROUGHTECH (1:10) as well.

Ordered a box of the 180 TTSX online. Only ammo I could find.

Those will do the trick on elk and anything else. Hopefully they'll shoot in your rifle. I've always had good luck with TTSX ammo.

Factory nos 180 accubonds and barnes 180 ttsx shoot very well

Accubonds maybe slightly more accurate

Don't over think it. I've killed several elk and lots of deer with .300 WM 180 gr. Winchester Power Points (silver box). The one round my rifle likes.

Have you seen any difference in accuracy between the 1:10 and 1:11 barrels?

The 1:10 is definitely tighter out to 400 on paper but the 1:11 is still perfectly accurate for any hunting I do. Beyond 400 I'm never really measuring groups just hitting steel at random ranges. I didn't need the new rifle but my messed up shoulder appreciates the muzzle brake.

I shoot the 200gr terminal ascents in my tikka 300 win mag.

I found some Remington Premier Scirocco Bonded 180gr at Cabela's and some Hornaday 200gr Precision Hunter E-LDX at local shop.
