Those of you who shoot Barnes bullets...

The common advice is to clean your rifle when you notice the groups starting to "open up". The test rifles I use get a spray cleaner and a few passes with a bore snake after each use. Once a year I will clean them thoroughly with cleaning rods, toothbrushes, etc.

Velocity requirements for Barnes, Nosler, Hornady require approx. 2000fps to expand reliably to 2x diameter. Lathe turned bullets like Hammer, Cutting Edge, Cavity Back can go down to 1500fps.
