The gun I wish I hadn't sold

I am sure we all have that 1 gun we wish we hadn't sold. For me there is more then 1 but if I had to name 1 it would be a winchester featherweight in 270. 35yrs ago. Absolute tack driver. And beautiful. What's yours?
Winchester M70 pre64 270 sold it in 1981, had two and still have the other. Looking back it came into me through a friend and at the time I really didn’t understand the true value of pre64. But boy when I take out the one I have, it stings.

7mm mashburn super. I’m just letting @noharleyyet borrow it. That’s what I tell myself
And just like that I became a compulsive tinkerer.

The only firearm I’ve sold was an exceptional Ruger #1, but it wasn’t regretful as we shook on a first refusal buyback should he want to sell. Repurchased it a few years ago and shipped to @p_ham.

Traded a nice rifle to @Nick87 for a nice Citori…no ‘ragrets’. .

Winchester M70, pre 64, 30-06. Custom .40 cal muzzleloader.

A position I don't expect to be in again. Safe has room for 20 more, no good reason to sell again.

I sold a Colt Anaconda 44 mag to a friend when times were tight in my 20’s. It was an amazing piece. He died and his son won’t sell it back to me… booo

I have two I regret. Both cheap but could have been useful to me. One was a youth 20ga H&R pardner with maybe a 22” barrel. I got it in a trade for a Marlin 60 and it wouldn’t fire. Gunsmith got it working for me for $100 and I sold it in college for $100.

The other was a Remington Sportsman 12 pump with a 30” Fixed full barrel. By my research it was a Kmart 870 before the Express came out. Plain checkered stock , vent rib barrel, smooth matte finish. Just had too many 870’s at the time and thought the $200 bucks I both bought it for and sold it for was a big deal at the time.

Tikka 270WSM. I still think it’s one of the best all around cartridges. Sold it a buddy. I have first rights to bring her back home.

For me it was an old Winchester 94 in 32 special with the saddle ring . I had traded a car for it , among other things , it had some carvings on the stock , bear on one side , deer on the other.
I was a dumbass back then, 1979 , and partying was my priority . I sold it on Friday night for $100 to my friend , who used it as his primary rifle until he died .
The family still has it , I think .

Not the best shooting rifle I’ve had but by far the prettiest was a model 70 in 6.5 Swede. I traded it off for a model seven that I built on. Love that rifle but wish I had traded something else!
