The “Greatest” Weapon in Film History

This rifle always stuck with me from crossfire trail. The 73 winchester gets a lot of love in westerns but big brother 76 is way cooler.166171240_983d76.jpgimage-w1280.jpg

My favorite Sci-Fi Action Film ever is the original Predator. It is loaded with brash characters and sacrificial warriors that are up against a superior HUNTER that’s here for a challenging good time.

The weapon that every kid drooled over was Ol’ Painless. My fingers tingled at the thought of mowing down flesh and forest while spitting out my sexual tyrannosaur fuel into a mix of mud, sweat and blood.

Ol' Painless" in
Predator (1987) is a General Electric M134 Minigun chambered in 7.62×51mm NATO. To enable handheld use by Jesse Ventura, it was modified to fire at a reduced rate of roughly 1,250 rounds per minute, or about 20.8 rounds per second, though the real weapon can fire up to 6,000 RPM.

I propose that it is the most iconic weapon to ever grace the silver screen. It’s metal oozed sexy. The electric spin screamed fear. The flame of combustion sent death. For a bonus, Ol’ Painless returned in Terminator 2.

What say you?
So much has come from that film.
Historically speaking, 2 Governors and another gubernatorial candidate.
Star studded cast, can’t forget Carl Weathers and Arnold’s famous handshake. Lots of homage too. The Sheriff “Hopper” in Stranger Things is homage to the first team that was hanging in the trees. Although, that could’ve been Arnold’s accent mistaking “Harper”. In any case, I’m with you, definitely a top 10.
