Just saw a new flash about a kid in Georgia that was prosecuted for shooting a turkey on his family property that his neighbor claimed was a pet turkey. The article leaves more questions than answers, so my opinion is pretty much non-existent. But it raises a ton of questions for me.

How did this kid not know that his neighbor had a pet turkey?
Should he have known?
How big was this property?
Where did this turkey normally go?
How was the hunt, did he have to call it in?
Did he at least get to eat it?

Here's my question for the poll: If your neighbor owns a pet game animal, and it wanders onto your property, can you and/or should you shoot it?

I shot a big yellow tomcat off my front porch and had a small panick attack because I thought it was my neighbors. Not long later the kids and I were over there and one of them blurted out that I shot a big yellow tomcat. Much to my surprise my neighbor thanked me because that cat had been terrorizing his cats, one of which was also a yellow tomcat.

To answer your question: if it looks like a wild turkey, it’s fair game. If it looks like a domestic turkey and you know your neighbor has you better hold off.
