"The Filthy Thirteen"
By Richard Killblaine and James "Jake" McNiece
It will give most of you a whole new perspective on "military discipline"!
The "Filthy Thirteen" actually disobeyed a direct order to fulfill a direct order. It's in the book.
McNiece was given orders to locate and set explosives on a specific bridge on D-Day.
It took McNiece awhile to gather enough soldiers to make a "unit" to locate and rig the bridge.
Another officer out ranking McNiece told him to set up and hold a perimeter. McNiece said no, his objective was the bridge.
The officer ordered McNiece to set up the perimeter.
McNiece said ok, gathered his men and proceeded to his objective, the bridge!
